[UWAB] Next Meeting and Officer Elections

Hey girls! I hope that all of you are having a great career fair week. I was glad to see a few of you who showed up to the resume blitz out on the floor. You all did fantastically! For those who did not get a chance to go, try to stop by tomorrow. Career fair experience is invaluable, especially earlier in your college career. I wanted to remind everyone that we have a meeting this *Thursday, September 15th* at *6:30pm* in *CoC 354*. However, we will *not be having elections*due to several conflicts with other events. We will have them next week, September 22nd. To refresh, the roles are: - Secretary - Treasurer - Reporter - Webmaster A summary of those positions are in last week's minutes. Good morning girls! First of all, thank you to those I saw at the IBM breakfast this morning. It was early, but I thought that all of the panelists had something to teach us about their career path and personal experience at IBM. If you are thinking of running, please come prepared with a small speech to tell us why you are the right candidate for the job. [UWAB] Meetings, IBM, and Harris! Oh my!

Hello girls! Other than our *meeting *tomorrow, *Thursday *at *6:30pm *in *CoC 354*, I wanted to let you know about a few professional events that could really benefit you all in going. This *Friday, September 9th*, *IBM *will be hosting a breakfast with the Society of Women Engineers at the *Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons 125 *from *7:30 *to *9:00am*. I know it's early, but there will be a host of speakers there from IBM who want to talk to and get to know you all over a little breakfast. We also have our *resume workshop* this *Friday *at *4:00pm *in *CoC 354*. The event is listed on our Women@CC Google calendar. If you would like access, please email me with your email and I can share the calendar with you. Lastly, *Harris *is coming onto campus to host an information session on *Sunday *at *6pm* in the* Student Success Center*. Stop by with your resume to learn about the company or to talk to a Women@CC alum, Christina Chatham, who will be there representing Harris. They will also be at the career fair next week. Hello girls, First of all, thank you to those who came out to the spa night! It was great seeing some new faces and some familiar faces. As a final conclusion to our Welcome Week activities, Women@CC will be hosting a dinner at *Ray's *in *Tech Square* next *Tuesday, September 6th* at *6:30pm*. We are also asking that all attendees to *bring $5* to allow as many girls as possible to come. As a reminder, stop by the tailgate at Klaus Courtyard from 4:00 to 7:00pm today to find out more about Women@CC or to just socialize with other computing students before the game! There will be an informal meeting after the tailgate at *7:00pm* in the *CoC room 354* for those who are not attending the football game. [UWAB] Women in Computing Conference Opportunity

Hello girls! I am emailing you about a new opportunity that has recently come up. The Computer Science Department at Tennessee Tech University is hosting a regional conference of women in computing from October 14th to 15th. It would be a great opportunity to meet women in computing academia and industry and learn about them in their respective fields. [UWAB] Upcoming Events and W@CC's First Meeting

Hello girls! Thank you so much to everyone who came out to Yoforia last Thursday! It was great meeting all of the returning and new members. Our next event is tomorrow, *Tuesday, August 31st* at *7:00 to 8:00pm* in the *College of Computing *conference room* *in *room 354*. We will be sponsoring a mini-spa day with nail polish and ice cream. If you don't think that's for you, stop by anyway and say hello. :) I also wanted to tell everyone that our meetings will be on *Thursdays, 6:30 to 7:30pm* in *CoC room 354*. Our first meeting will be this Thursday, *September 1st*. We will have lots of things to talk about like a trip to Google Atlanta, Team Buzz, and the Grace Hopper Conference in November! Of course, there will be snacks provided. This week, our meeting will start at *7:00pm* due to the Thursday game tailgate that will be hosted by the Office of Outreach, Enrollment, and Community on the Klaus Courtyard. It starts at 4:00pm and everyone should come out and socialize before the game! Hello girls! Welcome back everyone! I hope you that you all had a wonderful summer and are excited for this coming semester. I, along with Alissa Hartenbaum, represent W@CC, the Women at the College of Computing. W@CC's slogan is "Welcoming, Supporting, and Celebrating Women in Computing at Georgia Tech." Our meetings include a chance for female students to talk and bond over professional events, academic pursuits, and other social activities Our first welcome event will be held this Thursday. Members new and old are invited to come to the *Yoforia on Howell Mill* this *Thursday, August 25th at 6:00pm*. For those who need it, there will be transportation provided in front of the Stinger stops at the College of Computing beforehand. We also have the Student Center's Craft Center, a mini-spa day, and a trip to Ray's coming in the following weeks.
