Hi all,
To determine how teams are assigned to fields, the OC and TC use a
program that randomizes the distribution of teams subject to certain
constraints (avoiding placing too many very-high-level, very-low-level,
or same-country teams on the same field). To allow independent
verification of results, the program runs deterministically based on
random seed numbers provided as input. Here is how we will select those
seed numbers for RoboCup 2013, presenting the selection mechanism
before the data is available to avoid any possible bias:

The FIFA Confederation Cup is coming up soon, with the first game on
June 15. We will take the first two goals scored in the Confederation
Cup and use the time, in minutes, at which the goals were scored, from
the match reports on the FIFA website.

Based on this, we hopefully will be able to publish our field
assignments this coming weekend.

Chris
