Call for Papers
================================================================
The 7th Workshop on Humanoid Soccer Robots
http://www.humanoidsoccer.org/ws12
----------------------------------------------------------------
12th IEEE-RAS International Conference on Humanoid Robots
Osaka, Japan, November 29th, 2012
================================================================

* Motivation and Objectives

Humanoid soccer has seen a lot of progress in recent years, e.g.,
with the introduction of bipedal standard or open platform robots
(Nao, DARwIn-OP), soccer games for larger robots (TeenSize), and
the introduction of competitions for simulated humanoid robots
(3D Simulation).
The ultimate goal of this initiative is to develop a team of
humanoid soccer players -- i.e. robots with human-like motion,
intelligence, and skills in playing soccer. This poses a unique
set of challenges to robotics, AI, and many other fields.
The workshop aims at bringing together researchers from the
RoboCup and FIRA communities, as well as other researchers
interested in the subject.

* Submissions

We solicit paper submissions, optionally accompanied by a video.
Papers should be up to 6 pages in length, formatted according to
IEEE conference layout (two-column). All contributed workshop
presentations are subject to a peer review process.

* Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

- Design of humanoid robots
- Bipedal locomotion
- Generation of complex motions
- Control architectures
- Motion planning
- Perception of the game situation
- Team coordination
- Skill and strategy learning
- 3D simulation of humanoid robots

* Important Dates

- Paper submission: October 7th, 2012
- Acceptance notification: November 4th, 2012
- Final paper: November 18th, 2012
- Workshop:                    November 29th, 2012
