One good reason is that the Humanoid League and the Standard Platform League
have a common field layout now (which is mostly the field of the HL). For
the SPL, throw-in points make no sense, because the rules use an invisible
throw-in line, i.e. the ball is placed back on the field approximately 1 m
closer to the goal of the team that kicked it out. The SPL also had throw-in
points a couple of years back, but the throw-in line turned out to be a much
better solution. I guess that's what the TC of the HL is going for, too, but
there still is the issue of the indirect free kick (which the SPL does not
have).

Anyway, these marks are not present on a real soccer field.
