The Women's Resource Center is a flurry of activity this week as we put
the finishing touches on this year's Women's Leadership Conference. For
those of you registered for the Women's Leadership Conference, we'll see

between respecting yourself and the importance of the other person.
Learning how to deal with emotions and core communication skills can
help accomplish this delicate dance.  Come see how conflict can actually

3) Advocate Training
November 16 & 17, 2006 9-1:00 p.m. (lunch provided) 
Location: Health Clinic, room 216 (upstairs)

Advocate training is the final phase of the Advocacy training series.
Advocate trainees become familiar with a wide range of agencies and
organizations that provide support to victim-survivors of sexual assault
and violence, and they practice the skills to work with survivors
through scenarios and role plays.  

We hope you'll attend both days - but you can also attend one day this
semester and the other next semester. Reserve a space by emailing

5) "The Haunting Histories of the Female Body: Gynecology, Obstetrics
and Women's Health" Symposium
Movie each Wednesday at 7 p.m., Symposium on November 17
"The Haunting Histories of the Female Body: Gynecology, Obstetrics and
Women's Health" explores the visual, historical and political nature of
the reproductive female body. Built around a film series, which
continues Wednesday at 7 p.m., and a symposium, which will take place on
November 17, this interdisciplinary project proves to be as entrancing
as it is illuminating. The symposium includes papers from the areas of
literary, historical and cultural studies as well as a presentation and
roundtable discussion with physicians and midwives. The film series
includes Dead Ringers, Born in the USA (a documentary on childbirth in
America), A Midwives Tale, and The Abortion Diaries among others.

Adaptive Technology Fair

has a special focus on technologies developed by faculty and departments
at Georgia Tech.  Also, the winner of T-shirt Design contest will be

"Psychological Disabilities: Creating Understanding, Fostering Support"

Participants will receive general information on psychological
disabilities and how they may impact GT students.  Tips will also be
provided on how to work more effectively with these students.

Numerology

This workshop will open participant's minds to the benefits of
Numerology and its importance in our everyday lives. Our presenter had
continuous dreams that guided him in the understanding there is a
mathematical design to our lives. Mr. Hun believes that Numerology
provides a way for us to understand a little more about our lives at
present and future mathematically. He has assisted people with their
business decisions which have advanced them in their careers as well as
family decisions. Mr. Hun will do a sample reading for one lucky

Conversational Sign Language for Beginners

This is a fun, interactive workshop on the use of American Sign
Language. You will learn basic conversational sign language in a relaxed

10) Finding Common Ground - Maya Angelou speaks at Georgia Tech 
Wednesday, November 15, 8 p.m.

A time of meaningful discussion and insight, Finding Common Ground gives
Georgia Tech students an opportunity to examine life in an increasingly
global society. From a series of discussions to a keynote address by
best-selling author Maya Angelou, the intent of this unique two-day
event is to strengthen the Georgia Tech community. In an effort to
deepen communication and understanding among all members of the Georgia
Tech community, students who participate in Finding Common Ground will
take part in one of three forum events. Each forum will sharpen skills
needed by future leaders of an evermore global society.
