Lisbon, Portugal has<br>currently available 1 (one) research engineer grant. We are seeking highly motivated researchers</div><div>to integrate the research team for the EU projects, coordinated by ISR/IST:</div><div><br></div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;">        </span>- RoCKIn ("Robot Competitions Kick Innovation in Cognitive Systems and Robotics" - <a href="http://rockinrobotchallenge.eu/">http://rockinrobotchallenge.eu</a>) and </div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;">        </span>- MOnarCH ("Multi-Robot Cognitive Systems Operating in Hospitals" - <a href="http://monarch-fp7.eu/">http://monarch-fp7.eu</a>).</div><div><br></div><div>The successful candidate will be developing work mainly focused on, but not limited to,:<br><br>* the extension of ISR/IST networked robot system to be used in the MOnarCH project, currently</div><div>composed of 10 IP cameras and several heterogeneous robots, to include new sensors and robots;<br><br>* the installation and set up of test bed for bechmarking of domestic robots, that will be similar to the</div><div>one used in the RoCKIn@Home competitions.</div><div><br>* the support activities to all the experiments and field trials to be carried out within the MOnarCH</div><div>project, including the installation of equipment at some of the partners.<br><br>The successful candidate is expected to have at least a MSc in electrical engineering or related field, with<br>experience in one (or more) of the following areas:<br><br>* Mechatronics (electronic PCB design, CAD, electronic hardware programming, microcontrollers, …),<br>* Real-time programming,<br>* Networked robot systems programming.<br><br>The grant has a duration of 12 months, eventually renewable.
