Dear all,

the Koblenz Campus of the University of Koblenz-Landau will become an
independent university on 01.01.2023. As the interdisciplinary
university in the north of Rhineland-Palatinate, it will live
knowledge-transformation-innovation in the profile areas of "Education",
"Information Technology", "Culture and Communication" and "Materials and
Environment" and provide impulses for teacher training and the region.
Help shape the future University of Koblenz right from the start!
The Department of Computer Science focuses in particular on 'Data
Intelligence': from various perspectives of computer science and
application-oriented computer science, this complex of topics is
researched, taught, and developed in cooperation with regional and
international actors. nationally developed.

In order to strengthen this profile area, the Department 4: Computer
Science at the Koblenz campus is to be established at the Institute for
Computational Visualistics at the earliest possible date to fill a
professorship (W2) for Robot Vision (m/f/d).

Main tasks:

The future holder should represent the topic of robot vision in research
and teaching. The research focus of the professorship is on robotics and
the analysis of sensor data. An excellent scientific profile is expected
in these research areas and in at least one of the neighboring research
areas 'Autonomous Mobile Systems', 'Cognitive Systems', 'Machine
Learning', 'Artificial Intelligence' and 'Human-Machine Interaction'.
The applicant is expected to play an active role in the ongoing projects
in the field of robot vision and to participate in the further profiling
of the Institute of Computational Visualistics, the BSc and MSc programs
of the Department of Computer Science, the major 'Mobile Systems
Engineering' and the department profile Data Intelligence.
In addition, she/he should be willing to work and teach
interdisciplinary in the further fields of Computational Visualistics.
Experience in the acquisition of third-party funded projects and in
project management is required.
Candidates must be able to prove through their past and current research
work that they are internationally recognised and work at a high
scientific level in the subject area of the professorship. A
corresponding qualification is proven in particular by the quality of
the doctorate and the quality and quantity of internationally recognised
scientific publications as well as by the acquisition of third-party
funding.

Conditions of employment:

The employment requirements of the Higher Education Act (HochSchG) of
the State of Rhineland-Palatinate apply. The prerequisite is a
successfully completed course of study at a university or comparable
institution of higher education (except for a bachelor's degree) or a
master's degree, a qualified doctorate in computer science or a related
field, pedagogical suitability and additional scientific achievements (§
49 (2) HochSchG.
The state of Rhineland-Palatinate and the University of Koblenz-Landau
represent a concept of intensive supervision of students and therefore
expect a high level of presence of the teaching staff at the university.
Women will be given preferential consideration in recruitment where they
are equally suited, qualified and have the same level of academic
achievement, insofar and as long as there is under-representation. This
does not apply if there are such grave reasons in the person of an
applicant that they outweigh even when the commandment to equality of
women is observed.
Severely disabled applicants will be given preference if they have the
same qualifications.
Applicants shall send their documents (curriculum vitae with academic
background, list of publications, certificates, list of courses held to
date and third-party funded projects, etc.) by 20 April 2020, quoting
the reference number 25-2020, to personnel department of the University
