The robotics group at Jacobs University has a postdoc position for research on educational robotics, which is to be filled as soon as possible. Note that the planned research is on and not in educational robotics. Concretely, we want to study the effects of hands-on teaching components, i.e., the use of labs, with respect to intended learning outcomes (ILO) in a BSc curriculum in "Robotics and Intelligent Systems". Aspects to investigate include the effects of trade-offs between lecture and lab components as well as the study of different forms of group formation.

The ideal candidate has a background in education research and some experience with research methods in evidence-based education in engineering or the natural sciences. Possible additional experience in educational robotics is of course a big plus.

The position is financed for initially 2 years by the Jacobs Foundation within a project in the "B3 - Bildung Beyond Boundaries" framework. Applications should be send via email to "a.birk at jacobs-university.de"<mailto:a.birk at jacobs-university.de> with the subject line "B3 postdoc".

Best regards,
Andreas Birk
