Post-doc and Ph.D. Positions
National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU)
Taipei, Taiwan

Prof. Wei-Yen Wang, Chen-Chien James Hsu, and Jacky Baltes of the
Department of Electrical Engineering at NTNU have secured two Artificial
Intelligence (AI) projects entitled ““Development of Theory and Systems of
Robot Learning from Human Demonstration (LfD)--Human Action and Face
Expression Analysis System Based on 3-D Images” and “Development of Theory
and Systems of Robot Learning from Human Demonstration (LfD)--Development
of Learning from Human Demonstration Robot”, sponsored by the Ministry of
Science and Technology (MOST).

Development and realization of the target systems using AI techniques
including
deep learning and generated adversarial network will be investigated for 4
years starting
from Jan. 2018.
We are currently recruiting talented Post-doc and PhD students to
participate in
these two projects.
Areas for investigation include but not limited to:
1. image recognition, primarily based on SIFT or SURF
2. object tracking, primarily based on SIFT or SURF
3. development of a General Adversarial Network
4. facial recognition based on deep learning, primarily via Convolutional
Neural
Network (CNN)
5. action recognition based on deep learning, primarily via Convolutional
Neural
Network
6. development of action performance system, including modeling,
generality, object
tracking, to learn demonstrated behaviors from humans.
7. reinforcement learning systems
8. visual simultaneous localization and mapping (V-SLAM)
9. realization of a SIFT-based real-time image recognition system by FPGA
based on
hardware/software co-design approach
10. realization of CNN systems by FPGA based on hardware/software co-design
approach
11. realization of V-SLAM systems based on hardware/software co-design
approach
