*ABOUT ROBOCUP RESCUE AGENT SIMULATION LEAGUE:*

Natural disasters are major adverse events that cause large-scale
economic, human, and environmental losses. They are usually difficult to
predict and it is even more challenging to prevent them from happening.
These characteristics demand disaster management strategies to be in place
for the mitigation of damaging consequences when a disaster happen.

RoboCup Rescue Simulation is a Large Multi-Agent System which its aim is to
manage the disaster when an earthquake happens. It’s main purpose is to
provide emergency decision support by integration of disaster information,
prediction and planning.

The mission of the RoboCup Rescue Agent Simulation League is to
promote research and development in this socially significant domain at
various levels. It is one of the prominent systems for AI and Multi-Agent
researches.



*Agent Simulation Competition:*

The competition involves primarily evaluating the performance of agent
teams developed using exclusively *ADK Framework* (
https://github.com/RCRS-ADF/RCRS-ADF  <https://github.com/RCRS-ADF/RCRS-ADF>)
on different maps of the RoboCup Rescue Agent Simulation (RCRS) platform (
http://sourceforge.net/projects/roborescue
<http://sourceforge.net/projects/roborescue>).



All participating teams MUST implement their code using the ADK framework.



The documentation of the ADK Framework is available at
http://aitech.ac.jp/maslab/rcrswiki  <http://aitech.ac.jp/maslab/rcrswiki>.



The participation on the Agent Simulation competition requires the
submission of a Team Description Paper (TDP) describing the
strategies implemented on the agent's code.



*PRE-REGISTRATION:*

The pre-registration deadline is January 22, 2017, and must be
electronically done through the website: http://2017.iranopen.ir/



*Workshop:*

There are plans to hold a workshop about the RoboCup Rescue Simulation
League. The workshop aims to disseminate the knowledge about the RoboCup
Rescue Simulation

League and the simulator used in the competition.

As regarding that ADK Framework is obligatory in RoboCup 2017, we feel that
holding this workshop about ADK Framework will be useful for participants
in order to better preparation for RoboCup 2017.

The ADK framework has been developed by a group of the Aichi Institute of
Technology, Japan led by Nobuhiro Ito and has as the main purpose create a
development environment to facilitate the development of agent teams
integrated to the RoboCup Rescue Simulator Platform. The framework has been
released recently, but it has the potential to help the league to overcome
several of its issues.
