Call for Participation: FREEBOTS Scientific Competition during Portuguese Robotics Open
********************************************************************************************************************************************
XVI Portuguese Robotics Open, May 4-8, 2016, Bragança, Portugal
collocated with the IEEE 2016 International Conference on Autonomous Robot Systems and Competitions (ICARSC 2016)
********************************************************************************************************************************************

Robot scientific competitions are a growing trend at an European level in the past few years (RoCKIn, euRathlon, RockEU2).
However, most of them tend to constrain participation to a specific application domain. The FREEBOTS competition aims at
challenging the international community of R&D to present their latest research results in the form of an *open* technical
presentation and public demonstrations.

Participation must involve real, terrestrial, airborne or aquatic robots - mobile or not, multiple or single. Teams are assessed
by a panel of experts in the field of robotics with regards to technical and scientific achievement, potential application of
demonstrated robots, quality and success of the presentation and its impact on the general public.

FREEBOTS takes place on a regular basis since 2011 as a League of the Portuguese Robotics Open. The current official
rules of this League, as well as the track record of previous events, can be found in the competition web page:
http://www.isr.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/freebots

The next competition will take place in the XVI Portuguese Robotics Open, 4-8 May 2016 in the beautiful city of Bragança, Portugal.
