Robotica 2015 - 15th Portuguese Robotics Open

The Portuguese Robotics Open is a RoboCup Event that aims at
promoting Science and Technology among students from the 1st grade to
university studies, as well among the general public, through robotic
competitions.
We would like to invite you to participate in the 15th Portuguese Robotics
Open which will take place April 8-12, 2015, at University of Tras-os-Montes
and Alto Douro (UTAD), Vila Real, Portugal.

== Competitions

The following competitions are offered for the 15th Portuguese Robotics
Open:

 Major Competitions

   - RoboCupSoccer Middle Size League
   - Autonomous Driving Competition
   - RoboCupSoccer Standard Platform League
   - RoboCupSoccer 3D Simulation League
   - RoboCupSoccer 2D Simulation League
   - Robot at Factory
   - FreeBots Competition

 Junior Competitions

   - RoboCupJunior Dance
   - RoboCupJunior Soccer
   - RoboCupJunior Rescue
   - FreeBots Junior Competition

The rules of RoboCup competitions will be based on the RoboCup 2015 rules
for
each League. All competitions rules are available at:

Some Competitions may not take place if the number of participating teams
(judged by the registrations) does not reach the mimimum.

== Schedule ==

    Registration deadline:              (Mar.  1, 2015) ==NEW DATE== Mar.
8, 2015
    Late registration deadline:        Mar. 22, 2015
    Portuguese Robotics Open:     Apr. 8-12, 2015

All deadlines are 23:59 GMT.


Registration Fees:

   - Until 8th Mars 2015 (early) - Payment until 13th Mars

     Major Leagues
       Fee per team:           200 euros (up to 5 members)
       Additional team member:  50 euros (no limit of extra members)

     Junior Leagues
        Fee per team:           80 euros (up to 4 members)
        Additional team member: 30 euros (limited to 2 extra members)

     Scientific meeting
        Full time Students:    200 euros ; 150 euros (SPR Ass./IEEE members)
        Non Students:          320 euros ; 250 euros (SPR Ass./IEEE members)

   - Late registrations - Until 22 Mars 2015 (late) - Payment until 27 Mars

     Major Leagues
       Fee per team:           250 euros (up to 5 members)
       Additional team member:  75 euros (no limit of extra members)

     Junior Leagues
       Fee per team:           120 euros (up to 4 members)
       Additional team member:  50 euros (limited to 2 extra members)

     Scientific Meeting
       Full Time Students:     250 euros ; 200 euros (SPR Ass./IEEE members)
       Non Students:           380 euros ; 300 euros (SPR Ass./IEEE members)


== Description and History ==

The Portuguese Robotics Open (also known as Festival Nacional de Robótica)
had its 1st edition in 2001. The event has had an enormous growth since
the 1st edition, both in the number of teams, participants and visitors
and also includes an international IEEE conference where national
an international researchers present their latest work in the field
of Robotics (http://robotica2015.utad.pt/ICARSC).
The 15th edition of the Portuguese Robotics Open will be held in Vila Real,
Portugal, on April 8-12, 2015.  Vila Real, the capital of the Tras-o-Montes
province, is a sleepy university town set in a sea of rural tranquility.
The town is located 90km east form Oporto city. Vila Real flourished as a
result of the wine and port trade, which used to be headquartered here
before
moving to Porto. Vila Real is well-placed to explore the little-visited
Parque Natural da Serra do Alvao, with it's lush valleys and towering
mountains.


The Portuguese Robotics Open is currently an initiative of
Portuguese Society of Robotics.
