The 2nd joint conference of AI & Robotics and the 4th RoboCup IranOpen Symposium will be held in conjunction with RoboCup IranOpen 2012. The Symposium represents the core meeting for presentation and discussion of scientific contributions in diverse areas related to the main threads within Robotics, AI, RoboCupSoccer, RoboCupRescue, RoboCup at Home and RoboCupJunior.
 
Its scope encompasses, but is not restricted to, research and education activities within the fields of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
Due to its interdisciplinary nature and the exploration of various and intimate connections of theory and practice across a wide spectrum of different fields, the symposium offers an excellent opportunity to introduce new techniques to various scientific disciplines. 

To extend the Symposium beyond RoboCup activities it is jointly held with the 2nd conference of AI & Robotics which will give researchers from different disciplines of AI and Robotics to identify important new trends and challenges in major subfields of Artificial Intelligence and Mobile Robots

Submission:
We solicit submissions of papers reporting on high-quality, original research with relevance to the areas mentioned above. All researchers working in these areas, even if not actively participating in RoboCup teams, are urged to submit their work. Both papers describing real-world research and papers reporting theoretical results, as well as combinations thereof, are welcome.
Submitted papers must be in English and limited to 7 pages according to the IEEE formatting and must be electronically submitted through the electronic submission website. All submissions must include the entire manuscript PDF file excluding the author(s) information section attached with the entire manuscript doc or LaTeX sources including the author(s) information section. All contributions are peer-reviewed by at least three reviewers using a blind review process.

Important dates:
Submission of papers: January 7th, 2012
Notification to authors: February 20th, 2012
Submission of camera-ready: March 3rd, 2012
