Dear RoboCuppers,

A RoboCup Nao soccer simulation league based on Webots and URBI/Java/C++
is currently running online at http://www.robotstadium.org, organized by
Cyberbotics and Gostai. Aldebaran Robotics will be offering a Nao robot
as the first prize which also comes with a software pack including
Webots PRO and URBI for Webots.

C++ PROGRAMMING OPTION

Due to numerous demands, we recently opened the competition to C/C++
programmers. This option also facilitates the transition from code
developed for the real Nao robot to the simulation. A new C++ controller
programming forum was open on the robotstadium web site to support C/C++
developers. See details on http://www.robotstadium.org

EXTENDED DEADLINE: JULY 14TH

The deadline for the online contest was extended to July 14th. At this
point, the 8 best ranked competitors of the online competition will be
selected for the finals to be held in Suzhou from July 16th to July
20th. See details on http://www.robotstadium.org

FIVE ACTIVE TEAMS PLAYING NOW

We currently have 5 active teams participating in the contest on a daily
basis. You can view the simulation movies of the very first matches from
the hall of fame:

So far, their behavior is not very impressive (and few goals are
scored), but we are seeing constant progress and we expect to have much
better soccer playing robots very soon...

Don't wait for the July 14th deadline to enter this online competition.
Entering the competition as early as possible will certainly maximize
your chances of success (unless you are very confident your robot team
will win all the matches in the last round on July 14th...).

Best regards,

-Olivier
