<div dir="ltr"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">Hi Everyone,</span><div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><br></div><div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">There has been some discussion recently on the interpretation of the 200mm exclusion zone during free kicks, and here is the decision of the Technical Committee on the matter:</div>
<div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><br></div><div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">The 200mm exclusion zone, as mentioned in Section 9 Decision 2 of the rules, is designed to allow defending teams to position a defence against a kick without interference from the opponents. </div>
<div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><br></div><div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">A foul will be called by the referee if, when the ball enters play from a free kick, an opponent encroaches on the 200mm exclusion zone. </div>
<div style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">This must not be interpreted to deliberately infringe upon the 200mm exclusion zone before the ball enters play in order to obtain a strategic advantage. Doing so will be considered unsporting behaviour, and at the discretion of the referee, will be considered a Cautionable Offence (Yellow Card).<br>
