Accommodation 6. Contact 1. About RoboCup 2013 Dear all, this is the first newsletter from the local organization for the RoboCup World Championships 2013 in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. In this letter we will inform you about the important dates towards RoboCup 2013. Furthermore, also some initial information regarding registration, VISA and accommodations will be provided. The competitions and symposium will be held from June 24 to July 1, 2013. The competitions will take place at the Genneper Parks in Eindhoven. The venue is constituted of the Indoor Sports center and the Ice Skating center, together offering over 18.000 m2 of open floor space. The different halls of the venue are within walking distance of each other. The city of Eindhoven has an excellent accessibility from all directions by car, train and airplane. The venue is in the proximity of public transport and hotels of various price ranges. 2. Important dates In the tables below you can find the important dates of the senior competitions, the junior competitions and the symposium. a. Senior leagues Competitions June 27 – 30 Demonstration games and setup June 26 Setup June 24 – 25 Late registration June 1 – 23 Regular registration(1) May 1 – 31 Early registration deadline March 1 – April 30 Deadline for completion of qualification in each RoboCup league(2) March 15 Team Pre-Registration Deadline(2) February 15 (1) No team registration accepted after May 31. (2) Pre-registration and qualification deadlines may vary for some leagues. b. Junior leagues Junior workshop at symposium July 1 Competitions June 27 – 30 Setup June 26 Late registration June 1 – 23 Registration(1) April 1 - May 31 Pre-registration by national or regional representatives March 1 - May 4 Release of team allocations (quota for each country/region) February 28 Submission of placeholder applications by regional representatives January 28 – February 20 (1) No team registration accepted after May 31. c. Symposium Symposium July 1 Submission of camera-ready copies April 29 Notification to authors April 14 Submission of full papers March 1 3. Registration The registration information and link to the registration system will be placed on the website www.robocup2013.org. This information will be added in February, so please regularly check the website. Papers for the symposium have to be electronically submitted through the symposium web site: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=robocupsymposium2013 4. VISA Applications for VISA can be made 3 months before the competitions. For teams that need VISA, a letter of invitation can be provided after team registration and payment have been completed. The details regarding the VISA procedure will be added to the website in February together with the procedure to apply for a letter of invitation. 5. Accommodation Eindhoven and its surroundings has a wide variety of accommodations ranging from hotels, hostels, bed and breakfast, holiday parks, etc. A selection of accommodations will be put on the website in February. For the Junior teams low-cost accommodations will be provided together with an optional low-cost camping facility at the venue. 6.
