Hi All.
I think there's some problems about carpets. carpets decrease the speed of robots. and it will stick between wheels of robots. so I think we can use another material in the arena for future competitions. e.g. parket, wood and even tatemi!
Best Regards.
Majid Ahadi.

Please build your field concerning to the official rules
(http://small-size.informatik.uni-bremen.de/_media/rules:ssl-rules-2009.pdf).
The field size will not change so you can take the 2009 rules.
Best regards

Hi All
My name is Adrian Wong. I am associated with the team at UBC.
I was wondering what type of felt was used at robocup competition. If anyone
know any vendors in North America, that would be greatly appreciated. Also,
what is the best way to get the felt on to the wood boards?
Thank you for your time.
Cheers
Adrian

In our team (B-Smart) and also at the last competitions (afaik) carpet was used.
I think carpet is thicker, more robust and easier to floor than felt.
You should try to find green, short carpet. As we do not have any standardized
flooring keep in mind that your robots should be able to drive on different
carpet, too. Especially new carpet usually is much deeper than the one in our
laboratory. For marking the lines we use ordinary tape. It is easy to replace
when broken and does not handicap the robots.
Best regards

For RoboCup 2007 I believe they sourced it from Home Depot. We
normally just roll it out on the floor and don't mount it to anything.
Thanks,
