CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
Dear teams,
the deadline for pre-registration to Mediterranean Open 2011 is
*January 31st, 2011*
All teams interested in participating should send me an e-mail with
information about
team name, affiliation, team leader and an estimate of how many people
will attend the event.
So far I received 6 intentions to participate / pre-registrations.
Teams needing special help to attend the event (e.g., invitation letters
for visas),
please notify me as soon as possible.
Since visa procedures may be long for some countries and we need to
do a selection if more than 8 teams intend to participate, I kindly
request all teams
to send me a message if they want to participate within ***Wednesday
January 19th***,
so that the Organizing Committee will understand if a selection is
necessary and
can give answers to teams that need visas.
The organizers of MedOpen 2011 will offer:
- free registration
- prize for winners
- accommodation support (Fondazione Mondo Digitale will make agreements
to propose good deals in hotel, hostel for the participants)
An Open RoboCup Workshop will be organized during these days.
The workshop has an open format: each team is invited to present their
research achievements.
We plan to invite also researchers not involved in RoboCup to contribute
to the workshop,
in order to discuss about the significance of RoboCup solutions in other
domains
as well as the use of RoboCup testbed (in particular robotic soccer) for
common robotics
and AI problems.
It is possible to participate to the Open RoboCup Workshop even without
a team competing
in Med Open. People interested to participate to the Workshop are
invited to send me an e-mail,
including the information about their intention to give a talk (with
possible title an abstract).
Looking forward to seeing you in Rome.
Best regards,
Luca Iocchi
