            June 19 - June 25, 2010 (Singapore)
                http://www.robocup2010.org

RoboCup is an international initiative that fosters research and education
in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence through a variety of competitions
(RoboCupSoccer, RoboCupRescue, RoboCup at Home, RoboCupJunior) involving mostly
multi-robot systems.

RoboCup currently includes a number of different robot soccer leagues that
focus on different research challenges. The Standard Platform League (SPL)
focuses on software development for fully autonomous robots, i.e. robots
that operate with no external control, neither by humans nor by computers.
All SPL teams participate using identical state-of-the-art robotic
platforms. For RoboCup 2010, the standard platform will be the humanoid
robot NAO manufactured by Aldebaran Robotics (2010 RoboCup edition). The
RoboCup 2010 Standard Platform League will be able to host up to 24 teams,
which will be selected from the interested parties.

Qualification
-------------

All interested teams need to submit a 2-5 page qualification document that
includes:

1. a statement of commitment to participate in the RoboCup 2010 SPL
2. the leader(s) and the constitution of the team
3. a statement of the team's research interests and planned activities
4. a summary of past relevant work and scientific publications

The qualification document must be submitted by email to spl_tech at tzi.de by
**December 11, 2009**.

Teams are encouraged to consider joint participation. Joint proposals will
be judged on combined merit.

Pre-Qualification
-----------------

Teams that reached the quarter-finals or participated for the first time
with NAO robots in RoboCup 2009 will be pre-qualified for 2010, if they
submit the following material:

1. a statement of commitment to participate in the RoboCup 2010 SPL
2. the leader(s) and the constitution of the team
3. a team research report describing their work for RoboCup 2009

The pre-qualification material must be submitted by email to
spl_tech at tzi.deby **December 11, 2009**.

If a joint 2009 team splits, only one team can be pre-qualified for 2010
(please, indicate which one).

SPL Robots
----------

The Standard Platform League in RoboCup 2010 will be conducted using
exclusively the 2010 RoboCup edition of the humanoid robots NAO manufactured
by Aldebaran Robotics. Other NAO models will not be allowed to participate.

The 2010 RoboCup edition NAO robots are distributed exclusively to qualified
RoboCup SPL teams by Aldebaran Robotics under the following RoboCup-specific

1. For new qualified teams, a package of *four* 2010 Robocup edition NAO
robots, including 4 batteries and 2 chargers, costs 12,000 Euros, excluding
VAT and shipping costs. The price includes hardware and software support for
these robots until the end of 2011.

2. For old qualified teams, the 2009 RoboCup edition NAO robots can be
upgraded to the 2010 RoboCup edition at a price of 1,000 Euros per unit
excluding VAT and shipping costs. The price includes hardware and software
support for these robots until the end of 2011.
