I am glad to see that the SPL also uses the passing challenge
which has been used in the humanoid league for several years
until 2008.

However, it should be noted that unlike the wording in the HL rules
for 2008 says, the two additional white lines have _not_ been used
at RoboCup 2009. Instead virtual lines or small black lines invisible
to the robots but visible to the referees have been used, see

for a video from RoboCup 2008.

Not using the additional white lines has been decided in the
team leader meetings in Suzhou.
It has the advantage that for switching between tests of soccer games 
and the open challenge you do not need to modify the fields every time.
Also the localization method used for the soccer games does not
need to be modified for this specific technical challenge.
