Hi all,

I guess it is time for us to discuss the robot for RoboCup MSRS competition next
year. Although this year's competition was successful, I believe we could do it
better to make it a standard league in RoboCup at last. As one of the local
organizers of Robocup2008, I think the most important thing we should decide
earlier is the robot used in the competition. Then we can popularize this game in
ChinaOpen2007, and more teams would participate it next year. Also we can develop
a better sample and share it with other teams to make the competition look more
smoothly.

I think the Aldebaran Robotics' Nao robot would be one of the best candidates. In
Atlanta, Kyle has shown us the email about this robot. It looks good for our
competition. As you know, the robot has been selected for the new league, called
the Standard Platform League next year. But the simulation can do more than the
real robot. It is also a very good chance for us to make our competition, as well
as the Microsoft Robotic Studio, known in the RoboCup community.
