If there is an advantage to be the red team, it will be equally shared because one team will be the red team during the first half and the other team will be the red team during the second half. Its probably too late in the game to change the robudog models.

Subject: [robocup-msrs] Advantage for the red team

Hi,

Maybe it's too late but would it be possible to change the red team color to other than red. This is because as it stands now some image segmentation algorithms that use colors to identify the ball could confuse the red team's dog heads for the ball. This could generate a condition of unfairness because, even if the two teams use the same segmentation algorithm, the blue team will have a harder time distinguishing the ball from the other two players while the red team just could confuse the ball with one player (the teammate).

This is not much of a problem for us since we use the shape along with the color to distinguish the ball. But there are the odd situations where the robudogs' heads also appear to have the shape of a sphere and the robot looses some seconds resolving the ambiguity.

Maybe it sounds as not much of a problem but this could imply that the game results could be biased in favor of the teams that play red on the long run.
