Hi All,

If anyone is after more information on the Tribotix / Newcastle
University tender submission, there is a web page containing some more
info / pictures / videos on the Tribotix website. Note that the robots
demonstrated were prototypes and would be much nicer looking once
finished. The page is located at the following address:

http://www.tribotix.com/Products/RoboCup%20Tender/RoboCup_SRP_info.htm

I believe one of the main selling points of these robots is the fact we
are using professional quality servos with metal gears etc. Wear and
tear on the servos was identified as a major problem, hardware wise,
with the AIBO. Also, the concept of a robotic bear provides a unique
transition between quadruped and bipedal robots, as demonstrated, the
servos are strong enough to make the bear stand and most likely to walk.
Other important features are listed on the website. If there are any
inquiries please don't hesitate to ask.

We eagerly await news of what direction the standard platform league
will take in the future. Not long to go!

Regards,
Paul Baker
University of Newcastle
