Dear Oskar:

Thanks for the information about the ball. Our team always have difficulty to get these offical balls.

So the goal is different from that used in SPL. The attached pictures are the goal we took in Graz. There should be a hole in the net on the top as the rule said:
Goals:
------
The goals will be changed to look more like soccer goals and more
similar to the SPL. They will have nets [vote: 8/2] which are open on
the back, so that robots can be removed. The poles are either
unicolour blue/yellow or textured [vote: 6/1].

The goal is just like the picture shown in your simulator? To fix the net straight up behind is a little tough. Is my understanding right? I just want to build an official goal in our lab.

Thank you.

Hi Qing Tang,
> The main problem about the ball for my team is not whether we use the orange tennis ball or hockey ball, but how to get the official match ball. So if any team could distribute the ball for the other teams on favour, it would do much favour for us.
As far as I know most teams got the orange tennis ball from
http://www.courtsidesports.com/store/product/3701/Championship-Tennis-Balls---Orange-Tube-3-Balls--/
In our case they did not ship directly to Germany therefore we
asked a US team for help (which bought it and send it to us then).
You should try if you can order directly from there (or from another
source).
In case it is not possible,
- you could ask another team for help in buying balls, or
- you could ask if a team has a spare ball which they are willing to
sell and send to you, or
- you just paint a standard white tennis ball with an orange color
(we also did this earlier, it is not perfect but a feasible
  intermediate solution).
> As according to the rule: The goals will be changed to look more like soccer goals and more similar to the SPL. Could any team (Darmstadt Dribblers?) could offer a picture of the new goal? Then we would have similar one for our test.
The geometry of the new goals has already been posted on the mailing list
earlier (following the team leader voting in Graz).
Please have a look at the attached pictures of the new
goals in our robot simulator (thanks go to Martin Friedmann who priveded
them).
I think special care must be taken with the net in the back.
The mesh should be fine to avoid robots getting tangled in it too easily.
Pure white color should also be avoided for the net in order to avoid
that the net lines are being mistaken from field lines. Probably grey
or black color would be best.
We have not yet completed the new goals in our lab. Therefore I cannot
send you the pictures of the new goals at this time.
Best regards,
Oskar
