Sorry, I forgot to respond to this ticket!  Are you compiling on the Raspberry Pi, or are you cross-compiling from another system?

It may be worth trying with a newer version of Armadillo.  Otherwise, can you provide the output of `strings libarmadillo.so`?  (you will need to find where libarmadillo.so is, and the output will be very long...)  I want to take a look at the symbols that are available in libarmadillo.so to see that all the necessary symbols are there.
