Don't need, this pull request should not change the result of load data, it is just a way to load the data. I will try to figure out how to build mlpack on ubuntu today, ubuntu16.04 spend me a lot of times to install on my old machine(g770), it always failed and I do not know why, I have no choice but install ubuntu16.04 on virtual box.
