Yeah, if you wanted to check, you would need to `make clean` then `make` (or `make -jX` if you want to build with X cores).  Alternately, you could open a PR and push changes to it, and Travis will build it, but Travis will take about 30-45 minutes per build and there will be a delay before the build starts, so that may not be the most efficient way to do it.
