Hi there,

Sorry for the slow response.  The MATLAB bindings haven't been maintained in some years, and honestly they should be updated or removed from the project.  The first issue I see, which might matter (and it might not), is that you're using gcc 4.8 when the latest version your version of MATLAB supports is 4.7.  You might try downgrading your compiler and seeing what that does.

Could you provide output of `VERBOSE=1 make`?  This will show me the exact invocation of the `mex` tool and I might be able to debug from there.
