I think the tests still failing is a reasonably outstanding issue:

This is the same issue as for the test you commented out.  I'm happy to dig in and try to make initialZ symmetric positive definite, but I am far from the expert in this case...

If you instead want to close this issue and open another one for that, sure, go ahead; I just want to make sure that the failing tests get addressed at some point.
