 Okay.  I *finally* have a working VM and I can address this.

 Oh wait, no I can't, because Apple makes finding old versions of Xcode
 entirely impossible.  Not available in the App Store, not available on the
 Developer downloads site (with no listed reason), not available anywhere
 on the Internet because everyone is too afraid to post that.

 So, because Apple isn't interested in anything other than wasting my time
 in an apparent attempt to make me accidentally separate myself from my
 money, I can't look into this bug.  Thanks, Apple!

 If you can reproduce it with 4.6.1, I can look further into it.  I can
 also look further into it if you provide me with the install files
 necessary to get an old Xcode version installed.
