This is the world's largest exhibition of internationally renowned artist Niki de Saint Phalles outdoor sculptures ever presented. For a limited time this exhibit will be available. Especially for highly achieving people, the temptation is to continue to try to do more with less and to overcommit. These traps can cause successful people to burn out. This workshop provides strategies for successful time management to increase efficiency and overall well being. Presented by Nelson Binggeli, Ph.D. CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENTS: 5) Dean of Students Candidate Open Forum Thursday, October 5, 2 to 3 p.m. 117 Student Services The search committee for the Assistant Vice President & Dean of Students has recommended that John Stein be interviewed as a finalist for the position. The search committee reviewed 145 candidates for the position, since it began the search last spring. As part of the interview process, an open forum has been scheduled for any student, faculty, or staff member to attend. It is scheduled for Thursday, 10/5/06, 2pm - 3pm, in Rm 117, Student Services Building. ABOUT GTWF: Founded in 1981, the Georgia Tech Women's Forum (GTWF) is an organization comprised of employees from all facets of the Georgia Tech community and remains firm in our mission to provide opportunities for women at Georgia Tech. We have accomplished this via networking, sharing, learning and leadership. Program speakers at our monthly meetings provide a variety of perspectives on issues of interest to today's professional women. Our annual membership fee is only $10. 7) Georgia Tech Women's Basketball team kicks off "Save Lids to Save Lives" campaign Last week the Georgia Tech Women's Basketball team started its fundraising efforts for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The team is collecting money to fight breast cancer through the Yoplait "Save Lids to Save Lives" program. Jackets are currently in a friendly competition with the women's basketball team at NC State to see who can collect more lids by November 15th. For every pink Yoplait yogurt lid fans bring to the Georgia Tech home football games, or mail in by Nov. 15, 2006, Yoplait and General Mills will donate 10 cents to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. You can help by bringing your pink Yoplait yogurt lids to one of the Georgia Tech home football games or placing them in bids around campus such as the GT Student Center Food Court. 8) The 5 Browns <http://www.the5browns.com/> are coming to the Ferst Center of Arts Wednesday, October 4, 7:30 p.m. Charming, articulate and close-knit, the talented piano quintet returns to the Ferst Center after a sensational worldwide debut last year. This set of brothers and sisters - Desirae, Deondra, Melody, Gregory and Ryan - has just released their second chart-topping album which showcases the classical pianists' extraordinary gifts. GE, SHPE and the Office of Diversity Programs presents a high energy presentation that brings light to differences in nonverbal and verbal communication styles between Latinos and European Americans. 11) Paul Rusesabagina: Subject of "Hotel Rwanda" Visits GT This Thursday Thursday, October 5, 2006 7 to 8 p.m., Student Center Ballroom Do not miss this opportunity to meet a true hero! Hotel Manager Paul Rusesabagina, author of An Ordinary Man, and subject of the excellent film "Hotel Rwanda", appears at Georgia Tech to tell his story. Book signing will follow the program. 12) Georgia Tech Coming Out Week (GTCOW) GTCOW is a week-long program created to build a campus climate where Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning (GLBTQ) students, faculty, staff and their allies are not just tolerated but are accepted and comfortable with their diverging individuality. The events that are part of GTCOW are geared toward raising awareness on campus and getting people comfortable with GLBTQ issues. Some of the events focus on very specific issues from religion to politics to what it is like from a parent's perspective. Through these events GTCOW strives to dampen the effects of homophobia and to make the struggle less enduring for those dealing with GLBTQ issues. This will be a group of 65-75 women who will assist with Women's Receptions, Futures, and Girl's Night Out Programs. They will work with the 17-member board much like the Connect With Tech hosts work with their Advisory Board. As a member of the Women's Recruitment Team, students will have the opportunity to show exceptional rising high school junior and senior girls all about Georgia Tech.
