Hi everyone, I am currently a senior CS student at Tech and I am hoping to get in touch with key women-centric organizations on campus. The following message is from a friend at Emory who wants to let GT girls know of an event that will be taking place on November 2nd. The Forte Foundation Career Lab is a wonderful event that I took part in as a sophomore, and I have been a member of Forte ever since. The Foundation has great resources for young women looking to learn more about the corporate world and graduate school options. The other undergraduate career lab is taking place at UC Berkeley this year. Our hope is to reach out to GT undergrad women who may be interested in learning how their majors and interests are applicable to business. This event is totally free! Hey girls! As indicated in the meeting notes (Thanks Michelle!), we will soon vote on the event logo/design for this year's Phantasma (Fall Festival) event! This could serve as a good resume opportunity or just a way to show people what you can do. If you would like to submit a design, please email it to me (cpham3(a)gatech.edu) or bring it with you to the next meeting. LOGO SUBMISSION DEADLINE: midnight, Wednesday, October, 14 A scanned sketched drawing will be okay for the vote, but keep in mind that it needs to be computerized before we can work with it. [UWAB] Fwd: notes about Crash the Rec

From: Jon Cohen < jcohen(a)gatech.edu > Thank you everyone for your help with Crash the Rec. Despite problems getting started, it worked out. The survey feedback was very good. Some people wrote that it was better than last year. Only a few wrote that the drinks were late. People left happy, showing that we completed our goal. We had exactly 100 people sign in. I am not sure if that includes people from other organizations. Thanks to Minorities@cc and Women@cc for helping out. ESP...you all did awesome! A lot of survey feedback was about how fun the video games were. You all also brought a lot of people. I want to recognize Brian and Aaron for taking initiative and showing leadership while we were having the problems that we did. Some of the problems were things we should have done differently, but others were beyond our control. For items beyond our control, I will be meeting with college faculty members to make recommendations for changing the agreement between student organizations and college faculty so that this does not happen again. It is especially a problem since our sponsor's representatives were upset. Thanks again and good job to everyone who helped with the event. Good morning girls! Don't forget-- today's the Great Clown Car Act at 2:00p! Because of the rain, it'll be moved to the Student Center Ballroom (Student Center, 3rd floor). We didn't get any extra volunteers from my last email, so if you'd like to join us, we'd love to have you! Homecoming is really just all about having fun and getting to know the rest of your community. It doesn't matter if you don't think your flexible enough or something to that extent. [UWAB] CoC Homecoming Volunteer Party Sunday 8PM!

Hey everyone! As I'm sure you know, next week is Georgia Tech's Homecoming and this year the College of Computing is taking place in a few of the many festivities taking place this year. One of the most important and visually flashy events is the Homecoming Spirit Display Contest in which we will be decorating the College of Computing Lobby, turning it into a 3 Ring Circus Tent. We have plans and Cedric will help us get materials but what we need most is people!! So if possible could you please inform everyone you know that this party will be taking place (free pizza!!!). The contest rules state that we cannot start until 8PM Sunday, the judging takes place at 10AM on Monday morning. Come and leave your mark on the CoC, whenever you can for as long as you can on Sunday night. Any help is much appreciated. Bring your friends! Hope to see you on Sunday!
