[UWAB] College of Computing Freshman Mentor Program Applications Due Tomorrow

Are you looking for a rewarding challenge? Do you want to impact the success of our 2012 freshman class? Apply to be a 2012 College of Computing Freshman Mentor. The 2012 Mentor Program provides you with the knowledge, skills and leadership to lead a group of 4-6 entering freshman students, give information sessions to prospective students and their families, host middle and high school students during field trips and overnight visits, and TA CS 1100. The program runs from March 2012-December 2012. Students interested in applying should fill out and return the application to the folder outside College of Computing room 351 by *3pm Friday, February 17th* and participate in an interview/selection process during the weeks of February 20th - March 2nd. ... Requirements: *Have completed 30 or more hours by end of the Spring 2012 semester *Participate March 2012-December 2012 *Have a GPA of 2.75 or higher *Attend the Mentor Retreat/Training Event on March 10th and 11th (must attend both days - lunch will be provided on Saturday and dinner will be provided on Sunday. The event will take place on the Georgia Tech campus.) *Be available for monthly meetings/training during the Fall 2012 semester * *Be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:05pm-3:55pm to TA CS 1100 *Must help with the Back-to-School/Welcome Event at the beginning of the Fall 2012 semester If you have questions, please let me know. [UWAB] Thursday's Meeting and Weekend Mall Trip

Hi girls! This Thursday, February 16th from 6-7pm, we will have our usual meeting. Since midterms are coming up, we will be discussing time management skills. We will also have Valentine's Day themed snacks! This weekend we are having a mall trip. If you are interested in going, please fill out the survey to choose the time on Saturday or Sunday, which mall to go to (Lenox or Perimeter), and if you can drive. [UWAB] Resume Workshop Tomorrow

Hi girls! Women@CC is hosting a *resume workshop* this Thursday (February 9th) from *6:00-7:30pm* in the CoC third floor conference room. A representative from the Division of Professional Practice will present tips and tricks for resumes, and then we will have time to critique and help each other. The meeting will be half an hour longer than usual, allowing more one-on-one time. Upperclassmen, alumni, or anyone else who wants to help out with the resume workshop are invited to join us. In addition, the Women, Science, and Technology (WST) Learning Community is now accepting applications for new residents of the 2012-2013 academic year. The application and more details are posted on the WST website at http://wst.gatech.edu/lc.html . Applications are due Friday at noon (Feb. 10). There is also an open house at Stein building in 4th St. Apartments from 6-7pm on Thursday, Feb. 9. Hi girls! There is a Women@CC meeting today from 6-7pm. We are going to be taking attendance using a new online tool. Please go to ccorgs.com and register. This will allow us to take attendance quickly and efficiently in future meetings. This meeting will also be officer elections. If you are interested in running, it's not too late. Please e-mail me or Kaitlin to let us know, and prepare a 1-minute speech. The four positions are: *Secretary -Take meeting minutes -Send out emails *Treasurer -Take care of receipts and reimbursement forms -Maintain the sign-in sheet -Make sure club spending is reasonable *Webmaster -Maintain Facebook group and Facebook events -Update the Women@CC website with up-to-date information and pictures -Note: This job can have co-webmasters if desired *Reporter -Collaborate with various external publications, such as the Compiler, about the club -Take pictures at events Once elections are over we are going to discuss the different ways to find internships, jobs, and co-ops.
