Hello girls! I wanted to remind you that we have a meeting *tonight at 6:30pm in CoC 354*. This is our last week before The Great Pumpkin Festival! [UWAB] Women@CC Award Announcement

Good morning girls! I wanted to let you in on some exciting news. The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) and Return Path have selected Women@CC to recieve the Return Path Student Seed Fund grant! We are going to use the funding to support costs for the Grace Hopper Conference coming up in a couple of weeks. The Return Path Student Seed Fund is a $500 award given to student-run programs and initiatives that promote increased participation of women in computing and IT programs. The award is given to organizations whose initiatives align with NCWIT's mission by proposing activities, events, or other programs that will recruit, retain, and support women in technology- and computing-related majors. NCWIT is the National Center for Women & Information Technology, a 501(c)(3) coalition that works to increase diversity in IT and computing. NCWIT believes that greater diversity will create a larger and more competitive workforce, and promote the design of technology that is as broad and innovative as the population it serves. NCWIT focuses on improving diversity across the entire spectrum: K-12 through college education, and on to academic, corporate and entrepreneurial careers. I hope you all are excited as I am to receive this award! I look forward to seeing those of you who are able to attend there in Portland, Oregon! Sincerely, Linda

Hello girls! I hope that all of you had a good weekend! It was great seeing some of you at Team Buzz. I had a fun time sorting through those piles higher than my head; did you? :) I wanted to let you all know that fliers for the Great Pumpkin Festival have been printed. You can find them in the W@CC folder on the 3rd floor in the area around Jen's room, CoC 351. Please take as many as you are able and work on plastering them everywhere! Hello girls! This is a reminder that we will be having a meeting *today at 6:30pm in CoC 354*. We will be working on food and advertising for the Great Pumpkin Festival. Get excited; the event is in two weeks! As usual, food will be provided at the meeting. After the meeting, a few of us are walking to the new frozen yogurt place, Yogli Mogli, at Tech Square. Hey girls! These next few weeks are going to be a doozy. Just a reminder, we have a meeting today at 6:30pm in CoC 354. We will be providing vanilla yogurt parfaits this time. :) Tomorrow, a lot of girls will be headed over to the Tennessee Women in Computing conference. I will not be attending, but we wish a safe journey for those who will be going. It will be a great opportunity to connected with other female computer scientists before Grace Hopper in November. For those who are not going, we will be inviting *Pooja Sankar from Piazza*to come give a tech talk about being a female and an entrepreneur in Silicon Valley.
