Hey Guys! Tech Beautification Day will be held on April 5 this year. The day comprises of different groups coming in together and performing various community service projects on and off campus both. Every volunteer will get approved service hours, a free T-shirt and free food in the morning and afternoon celebrations. Our Project Coordinator applications are out and the deadline for the same is February 22. I have attached the flyer with this email for more information. Planning for College Success Mentoring Program My name is Brian Sharrow and I run the Planning for College Success mentoring program at Kennedy Middle School. We are a group of Tech students who perform weekly science labs with 8th graders and mentor them on the importance of a college education. At Kennedy there is a technology center filled with various modules for labs such as electronics, robotics, life sciences and many others. Kennedy is looking for a group from Tech to help run the lab. We currently do not have the manpower to undertake this task but we are looking for another group to partner with. Do you know of any? If you would like more information please don't hesitate to ask. The Board has been split into three committees: PR, Editorial, and Marketing. We met as a group in Boston for 1 1/2 days where the students interacted with Pearson executives to discuss issues in higher education. Each committee was assigned to a special project and has created a business plan. For example, the Editorial Committee is creating a national website to enable college students to submit photos/artwork to be used on the cover and inside of our books. The Board members are also playing a critical role in shaping new products and revisions of our textbooks. To complete their special assignments, they have traveled to Boston, Denver, NYC, and San Francisco on weekends, and summer and winter breaks. All in all, students have had opportunities to develop their professional
